An erudite world traveler and “gentleman of a certain age,” he prefers his labs black, his setters English and Irish, and his shotguns well-crafted made by John Dickson & Sons of Edinburgh Scotland with round actions and barrels laid side by side.

My dad taught me how to hunt pheasants when I was 8 years old while living in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He instilled in me a passion for wild pheasants, fine side by side shotguns (Dad always used a Parker D Grade 12 guage) and hard working gun dogs who are a joy to watch in the field!

Maybe it is not all that surprising that I ended up with a farm in South Dakota that is the state’s “Ultimate Honey Hole.”
